In San Mateo, the busiest hours are Friday and Saturday evenings and any night with a big game, when quoted delivery times can stretch past an hour; ordering before 5 p.m. or picking up yourself avoids the wait. Delivery radiuses are small, often two to five miles, and a minimum order plus a delivery fee is normal, with a tip of a few dollars for the driver on top. Lunch specials such as two slices and a drink, or a personal pie, are the cheapest way to eat at most shops across California on weekdays. Toppings are priced per item and half-and-half pies are usually free to request. San Mateo is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. Getting around San Mateo is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across California's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

One of the restaurants with better pizzas that I love. Iβm not a fan of pizza, but this place has really delicious pizza Iβd give you that. The place is big and located next to a caltrain station, so expect it to be noisy always. Staff ms are always friendly and helpful. They did their job with care and passion. We tried their meatballs, pizza, kidβs mac & cheese, and their well known banana cream pie. All the dishes were delicious. The meatballs were a bit salty, but it paired well with bread. The pizza was juicy and well seasoned. My son loved his mac & cheese, so it should be good. The banana cream pie is a must try for all the sweet tooth people. Weβll definitely come back as this place becomes one of our favorite.βb

First time ordering pizza from this establisment. Got the classic pizza online order to go and a couple of ranch sauce. I was a little worry the pizza felt light as I carried it to the car and assumed the worst. To my surprise, the pizza was really delicious. The dough was very light, thin, and had the wood fire char taste. Crust had a little crunch on the outside, yet soft fluffy on the inside. All the ingredients mixed well together in the right amount. For best eating experience, I recommend dining inside.

Everything about this place was good except for the loud train sounds (Caltrain station literally next door). The staff were friendly, helpful, and super accommodating for our large group and allowed those of us with mobile orders to sit with folks ordering in the restaurant. The whole place is HUGE and you could definitely have a special celebration there. I love the indoor/outdoor fusion feel. We sat in a covered courtyard area in the back. The food was great and the portions are huge. The wait staff were friendly, quick, and attentive. Members of my group kept talking about how they'd want to come back, myself included. π

This is my all time favorite restaurant! I usually get the Woodfire pizza because that is their specialty and the fresh ingredients elevate the taste. The chocolate chip brownie cookie is so tasty and I love that they have a flourless chocolate cake option. The train coming through is such a fun experience, especially if you come with your family and kids. Also I recommend anything that has burrata because it is delicious!! Recently I tried their new item with pasta and breaded chicken and it was so good!

Imma day late on this but, you know?!? I saw this place on Bay Area Check Please. The pizza that was shown is what cause my attention . Ish looked HELLA good. Plus, I never had wood fire pizza. The lady an I came here to eat on 11/11/25 at bout 12/1230p. It wasnβt too busy. Was pretty good crowd. Had bout a <10min wait. Not bad. We had the wood fire buffalo wings and the wood fire Brussels sprouts to start. Both were dope. Seasoned very well. I had the Carne pizza(which was the all meat) with extra cheese. Nice and meaty. My lady had the vegetarian pizza(nah! I ainβt try that). She loved it. The dough was cool. Iβd say it was priced well. My personal gripe and why I only gave four stars was they donβt have a soda fountain for refills. Food is nice. I mos def will be back. Thanks to Bay Area Check Please.
